NAME

net_ljx000 - HP JetDirect Printer Installer Utility model
     script

SYNOPSIS

     lp [ -o option [ -o option ] ...] <filename>

DESCRIPTION

The model script net_ljx000 is one of the net_lj* model
scripts included in HP JetDirect Printer Installer Utility
distribution. While most options are common among the
net_lj* model scripts, net_ljx000 contains new options
specifically for the HP LaserJet 4000, HP LaserJet 5000, HP
LaserJet 8000, HP LaserJet 8100 and HP Mopier 320. These
options include more values for the dpi option, more media
size options, and a fuser temperature option.

The model script net_ljx000 will not print the following
files: shar file, executable, archive, library, object, and
compressed. Instead, it prints out a single message page.

                    12/1200/12pro, or 12fast/1200fast. If <#> is
not specified, the printer's front panel sets
the default dpi. The 12pro sets true 1200
dpi with slow speed at 8ppm. All other dpi
settings print faster at 16ppm speed for

able for the LaserJet 8100, and Mopier 320
only. Media sizes A6, B6-JIS, and PostCardS
are not supported on the LaserJet 8000,
LaserJet 8100, and Mopier 320. For
PostScript, 11x17 is portrait and ledger is
landscape. Envelope sizes include C5, com10,
B5, DL, PostCardD (double), PostCardS (sin-
                    gle) and monarc.

mtype<media> Use the specified media type, where <media>
                    is either Plain, Preprinted, Letterhead,
                    Transparency, Prepunched, Labels, Bond, Recy-
cled, Color, CardStock, Rough, Vellum, User-
                    defined1, User-defined2, User-defined3,
                    User-defined4, or User-defined5. User-defined
media types must be pre-configured in the
printer. A default fuser temperature is
automatically set for the specified media
type. For Transparency, Rough, and Vellum,
the fuser temperature is set to low, high,
and vellum, respectively. For all other
media types, the fuser temperature is set to
normal. The fuser temperature can be changed
explicitly by setting the fuser option.
                    LaserJet 8000, LaserJet 8100, and Mopier 320
                    do not support vellum printing.

     manual/man, tray1, tray2/upper/ub/ubin, tray3/lower/lb/lbin,
                    tray4, tray5, manualenv/manenv Feed media
from the specified tray. Tray1 is a multi-
purpose tray. Tray4 is an optional high
capacity tray. Note that the preferred way
to select media is to use the type and/or
size, or the manual feed settings. The option
manualenv/manenv is for manual feeding of
                    envelopes. The options tray5 and
manualenv/manenv are supported only by the
                    LaserJet 8000, LaserJet 8100, and Mopier 320.

     btray1, btray2/bupper/ubb, btray3/blower/lbb, btray4, btray5
Feed media from the specified tray when
printing the banner page. The option btray5
is supported only by the LaserJet 8000,
                    LaserJet 8100, and Mopier 320.

     bin1/topbin, bin2, bin3, ..., bin10

Output pages to specified bin. By default,
the bin1 option (face-down) is valid, bin2 is
the faceup bin and bin3 through bin10 are
optional external output bins. The bin3 is
the face-up bin if bin2 is not available. The
options bin9 and bin10 are supported only by
the LaserJet 8000, LaserJet 8100, and Mopier
                    320. The bin2 option is valid only when mail-
box bin is attached with printer.

     rearbin/leftbin
Output pages to bin2 or rearbin when there is
no mailbox is attached. This command should
be used only when the mailbox is not attached
                    to the printer.

fuser<mode> Adjust the fuser temperature to print normal,
transparency, rough, or vellum media, where
                    <mode> is normal, low, high/high1,
vellum/high2, or high3. Also specify the
media type when adjusting the fuser tempera-
ture. The specification high3 is only avail-
able for the LaserJet 8100, and Mopier 320.
The fuser option is not available for the
                    LaserJet 8000.

econo<value> Turn on or off econo/draft mode, where
                    <value> is on or off.

srbb<#> Set the starting page number to recover or
                    print the specified page.

srb<#> Set the beginning page number for a silent
                    run.

sre<#> Set the ending page number for a silent run.

     yb/banner, nb/nobanner
Turn the banner page on or off.

color, gray Set the render mode to color or gray.

quality<mode> Enhance the resolution, where <mode> is
light, medium, or dark. Note that the resolu-
tion is not enhanced when dpi is set to
                    1200pro.

     tondensity<mode>
Change the toner density, where <mode> is
light, medium, or dark. A medium density pro-
duces the best result, where as a light den-
                    sity saves toner.

topaz Transmit only once to print multiple copies.
Note that using this option turns off banner
                    page printing.

staple Output pages to the staple bin. Use both the
staple and topaz options to print mutiple
collated copies to the staple bin.

collate<value> Turn on or off collate mode where value is on
or off. The on setting produces collated
                    copies (1,2,3.., 1,2,3.., 1,2,3.., ..), oth-
                    erwise non-collated copies are produced
                    (1,1,1..,2,2,2..,3,3,3.., ..). This option is
to be used along with the topaz option. This
option alone does not have any effect, but
produces collated copies whether collate is
                    on or off.

     proofnhold<mode>/pnh<mode>
Enable / Disable Proof and Hold printing
                    where mode is nohold/nhold, printhold/phold,
hold, or proof. These modes indicate how the
jobs should be handled. The option
nohold/nhold instructs the printer not to
hold the job in the printer disk. The
                    printhold/phold option instructs the printer
to print the requested copies and also keep a
copy of the job in the printer disk for later
printing (Quick Copying). The hold option
instructs the printer to hold the job, but
not print. The job can then be printed from
the control panel. The proof option instructs
the printer to print a copy (proof) of the
job and hold it in the printer disk for later
printing. By default the mode is
                    nhold/nohold.

private <#> Enables private or secured printing of the
job. The # is a 4-digit Personal Identifica-
tion Number (PIN). Valid values range between
0000 and 9999. The job can only be printed
from the control panel by entering this PIN.

examination. <fname> is optional, but it must
contain an absolute path. If it's not speci-

     1. AUTO option requires the utility "$HPNPDIR/bin/hpnps".
If it does not exist, print files will be printed in
PCL mode. PostScript files must have a PostScript
header (such as %!PS) inorder to be recognized
          correctly.
